Markman decision relating to a system for storing video images

Ampex Corp. v. Eastman Kodak Co. et al., No. 04-1373-KAJ, Oct. 26, 2006.

Jordan, J.  This Markman decision addresses only those terms that appear to be dispositive of issues raised in pending motions.

The patent-in-suit is directed to a system that stores for later display a reduced size version of a video image.  The court was requested to construe 99 terms but does not have the resources to construe terms not raised in the briefing.  Defendant’s request to find these claims invalid for indefiniteness is denied as validity is not the proper subject of claim construction.
